NEW STUDENT ENROLLMENT ITINERARY


1. Determine Eligibility

  • Complete the Prospective Student form. Once this form is complete, you will have access to our Student Portal for Prospective Students.

  • Applicants must submit their official school transcript (high school or higher education).

  • Applicants must be proficiency in both reading and writing English. (International Students living abroad will require a virtual Admission interview and/or TOEFL iBT exam with a minimum score of 68.)

  • Applicants must show good vision, physical and mobility requirements outlined during the entrance interview. All students must have had an eye exam within 1 year of enrollment.


2. Complete Initial Online
Registration

  • Decide which program to enroll in.

  • Remember, please complete the online registration Prospective Student form.

  • Email us at info@welcometoidea.com to schedule a virtual Entrance Interview if you are an out-of-state or out-of-country student.

  • Plan to be at the Entrance Interview for 2 hours. For students requiring prescription lens, please bring in your prescription.


2. Prepare for:

  • Read the 2026 Student Catalog and have any questions you may have ready.

  • You should have already received the Enrollment form for your chosen program via email after you completed the Prospective Student form.

  • Please upload your Driver’s License, State ID, or Proof of Residency to your Prospective Student account under “Prospective Student Tasks.” All identification documents must be uploaded prior to the Initial Online Interview. For identity verification purposes, your camera must remain on during the online interview.

  • Select a date/time for your Initial Online Interview within your Prospective Student account. During this interview, you will be given instruction on the In-School Visit.

  • Following or during your In-School Visit, you may proceed with your Entrance Meeting. To complete the Entrance Meeting, a signed Enrollment Agreement and the $3,000 enrollment fee are required.

  • Mail or Electronically submit a copy of your official High School Transcript or higher.

  • If you are an International Student living abroad, please provide a copy of your TOEFL iBT exam with a minimum score of 68.


3. Pay Student Fees

  • Applicants must be prepared to pay the $3000 Enrollment Fee at entrance meeting.

    • We accept Cash, Check, Money Order, Cashiers Check, or Credit Cards.

  • Once fees are paid at entrance interview, you will receive your IDEA school bag, which includes the student folder, the Electrolysis Practice Kit, and workbooks. You will be fitted for your Loupes or a Loupes fitting is scheduled for the 320-hour and 600-hour courses.

    • The 200-hour course does not include loupes, IBEC study guide, or workbook.

    • The 320-hour course does not include IBEC study guide or workbook.


4. After enrollment

  • You will receive an Activation Email for the Online Theory portion of the course within five (5) business days or you can log into the Student Portal to view the Theory username/password as soon as it is available under My Profile.

  • Part 1: Activate the Online Theory training and begin completing Modules.

  • Part 2: Upon completion of all online theory (with a 75% or better), your student account will automatically go into “Waiting For Practical” status and you will be in queue for in-school Practical Training.

  • Part 3: Practical Training starts on the first Monday of January, June and September in Oak Brook, IL.

    • Student must have loupes in order to start practical.

    • In the case of a holiday, training begins on the following Monday.

    • For students taking advantage of the payment plan option, the first installment payment is due by the Friday before the first day of practical.

      PLEASE NOTE: Students with an outstanding balance on their account will not be permitted to attend class until the balance has been paid in full.
